Animalia is an Australian children's television series based on the 1986 picture book of the same name. In 2008, Animalia was nominated for BAFTA Children's Kids Vote Award. In 2009, composer Christopher Elves won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for his work on Animalia's musical score.
11-year-olds Alex and Zoe were swept from their local library into Animalia – a unique world of speaking animals! But Alex and Zoe soon realised that all was not right in the once peaceful kingdom. Their arrival coincided with a period of instability in Animalia and unusual events, which were undermining the very heart of the kingdom – the Core. Alex and Zoe and their new best friends, G’Bubu the gorilla and Iggy the iguana, used their wits and imagination to help solve the mysteries and brought harmony and order back to the land.
