"Net Ghost PIPOPA" premiered in Japan in 2008 and its manga version also started serializing in the same year. In 2009, a spin-off game entitled "Net Ghost PiPoPa×DS@Big Adventure!!!" was released for the Nintendo DS as well. "Net Ghost PIPOPA" is different from those ordinary kids-oriented TV animations. It was created to help kids strengthen their knowledge and comprehension of the Internet through the story of network adventure.
Yuta Akikawa was a young boy who just transferred to a new primary school. The school was situated in a city which was totally controlled by computer network. One day, Yuta received a strange email. After opening the email, Yuta was surrounded by rays of mysterious light. Later, he found himself disappeared from the actual world and entered a network space which was as large as the universe!! In front of him, there were three net ghosts, Pit, Pot and Pat (a.k.a. PIPOPA).
Although Yuta was attacked by terrible virus, he finally found his way to be back to the human world. When he woke up the next morning, Yuta heard some PIPOPA ‘s voice from his mobile...
"To reciprocate us for assisting you to go back to human world, you have to help us to solve problems in the future..."
"Oh... Why it turns out like that..."
Yuta’s adventure between the human world and computer network started from this point...
